Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act
Each year, Sandhills Community College receives funds from the federal government through the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. The purpose of the act is to develop more fully the academic, vocational, and technical skills of secondary and postsecondary students who elect to enroll in vocational technical education programs.
The funds allocated to Sandhills Community College are used specifically to expand career and technical programs and modernize programs with technology and equipment.
Because the funds are distributed through the North Carolina Community College System office, you can access additional information about the program here: http://son2.nccommunitycolleges.edu/Perkins/index.html
